Instructions:

Read through the primary sources provided on the roots of the American Revolution and fill out the primary source interpretation guide for each document. The language may be difficult to understand, but try and pick out from the original documents, things that you already know about the individual acts and events, and things that are new to you. When you have completed this segment of the lab, move on to the Guided Historical Questions.

A number of significant events over the course of many years led a colony to break all ties with its mother country, breaking free from oppression and the mercantilist policies of England. What specifically did the English Parliament and the King pass that led the colonists to make the decision to break free? How did the colonists react to the passage of these acts? Did the colonists make attempts to secure a peace with England before making any rash decisions? How did the colonial leaders aquire support from the colonists who were undecided on what the fate of the colonies should be? In the form of an essay using specific citations from the documets, answer the questions above. The citations should be in MLA format which will be provided to you.
